The Ministry of Labor and Employment (MoL&E) vide notification dated April 12, 2022 has declared services engaged in the Copper and Iron ore Mining industry to be a public utility service with respect to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947. This is in Effect up to six months from April 12, 2022.
The Central Government has lastly declared the copper mining industry to be a public utility service for a period of six months from the 27th May, 2021. The Iron Ore mining industry was lastly declared into a a public utility service for a period of six months from 14th October, 2021.
