CPCB organizes 35th Analytical Quality Comparison Exercise for Environmental Laboratories

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) is set to conduct the 35th Analytical Quality Comparison (AQC) Exercise in collaboration with the Proficiency Testing Centre (PTC) at the National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW), Hyderabad. The CPCB issued a notification to this effect on 15th June, 2023.

This exercise specifically focuses on testing pesticide compounds in water matrices. The PTC (NIPHM) will dispatch the sample to participating laboratories in June 2023.

In line with this initiative, the CPCB has requested all laboratories registered for the program to ensure their readiness to undertake the analysis. The intimation regarding sample dispatch was communicated to the participants by 30th May, 2023. Additionally, participants will receive a reminder notification 2-3 days prior to the actual dispatch to ensure timely preparation.

The AQC Exercise serves as a valuable platform for environmental laboratories recognized under the Environment Protection Act, 1986 (EPA) to assess and enhance their analytical proficiency. It aims to promote uniformity and accuracy in the analysis of pesticide compounds in water matrices, thereby ensuring reliable and consistent results across various testing facilities.
