Tamil Nadu Government relaxes payment of electricity bills without penalty on the Cyclone affected regions like Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu districts in Tamil Nadu. On 03.12.2023, the low pressure zone over South West Bay of Bengal strengthened into Cyclone, this caused heavy rainfall in the districts of Chennai, Kanchipuram, Tiruvallur and Chengalpattu. This notification was published on the date of 06.12.2023. Tamil Nadu Government has informed due to the effect of cyclone, Extension of time is given to the consumers till 18.12.2023 without penalty amount.
