DFPD has extended the application window under Ethanol Blended with Petrol (EBP) Programme.

The Department of Food and Public Distribution on 20th October 2022,  has decided to open a window for one year w.e.f 22.04.2022 under modified scheme dated 14.01.2021 for inviting fresh applications from those project proponents who have acquired land for ethanol project and obtained Environmental Clearance (EC) for enhancement of their existing ethanol distillation capacity or to set up new distillery for producing 1st Generation (1G) ethanol from feed stocks such as cereals (rice, wheat, barley, corn & sorghum), sugarcane (including sugar, sugar syrup, sugarcane juice, B-heavy molasses, C-heavy molasses), sugar beet etc.

The Central Government with a view to increase production of ethanol and its supply under Ethanol Blended with Petrol (EBP) Programme, especially in the surplus season and thereby to improve the liquidity position of the sugar mills enabling them to clear cane price arrears of the farmers opened a window for six months w.e.f. 22.04.2022 which is now being extended for another six months for inviting fresh applications from those project proponents who have acquired land for ethanol project and obtained Environmental Clearance (EC) for enhancement of their existing ethanol distillation capacity or to set up new distillery for producing 1st Generation (1G) ethanol from feed stocks such as cereals (rice, wheat, barley, corn & sorghum), sugarcane (including sugar, sugar syrup, sugarcane juice, B-heavy molasses, C-heavy molasses), sugar beet etc.

For availing assistance under the Scheme, the sugar mills/distilleries/entrepreneurs who have acquired land and obtained environmental clearance for their project would be required to submit an application cum-proposal in the prescribed Proforma (Annexure-I) to the Director (S&VO), Directorate of Sugar and Vegetable Oils, Department of Food & Public Distribution (DFPD), Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi during the period of one year w.e.f 22.04.2022 through online mode only on the https://www.nsws.gov.in to avail benefit under the scheme.
