DGFT Develops online platform for filing and issuance of Preferential Certificate of Origin

The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in its trade notice dated 19th September 2019 has notified a new online platform for issuance of preferential Certificate of Origin (CoO) for all export products in order to provide an electronic, paperless, contactless platform for the CoO application process.

This common digital platform is a single point access for certificates of origin for all FTAs/PTAs for all agencies and all products. This is designed to facilitate exporters through a secure, electronic, paperless CoO issuance process. All designated CoO issuing agencies are required to work through this portal.

DGFT has requested the exporters to partner FTA/PTA countries to register using their IEC. Digital signature would be required for the purpose of electronic verification in the application process.

The platform for registration purpose has been made live Issue of CoC. For India-Chile PTA, the issue of CoO has been started from September 25, 2019. Therefore, DGFT requested the exporters intending to take benefits under India-Chile PTA to immediately register on the new CoO platform. Exporters to other FTA or PTA countries may also start registering on the new CoC Platform.
