The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced the immediate suspension of Standard Input Output Norms (SIONs) for a range of food products. This action is effective from August 26, 2025, and is taken in exercise of the powers conferred under the Foreign Trade Policy, 2023.
The suspension applies to the SIONs listed in Annexure “A” of the public notice. The affected food products include:
- Assorted Confectionery
- Baking Powder
- Biscuits
- Casein (Edible Grade)/Caseinates
- Various prepared rice and grain dishes (e.g., Biryani, Pulao)
- Tea Bags
- Maize Starch Powder
- Liquid Glucose
- Dextrose Monohydrate
- Modified Starch
- Corn Gluten
- Sorbitol
- Refined Mustard Oil (Edible Grade)
- Namkeens/Mixtures/Savouries
- Malted Milk Food
Entities that export these products can now apply for benefits under the Advance Authorisation scheme, following the provisions of Paragraphs 4.03(b)(ii), 4.03(b)(iii), or 4.03(b)(iv) of the Foreign Trade Policy.
