Extension in release of Imported Consignments of Producers of 106 EEE items

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has clarified that the interim arrangement of release of imported consignments of producers of 106 EEE items shall be extended to 15th September, 2023.

It may be recalled that CPCB had previously notified that this interim arrangement would be effective till 31st August, 2023.

The release of imported consignments of producers as defined in E-Waste (Management) Rules, 2022 necessitated the following:

  • submission of an undertaking
  • submission of an acknowledgement of application made on the CPCB’s EPR Portal
  • copy of EPRA whose validity is over 30th June, 2023

CPCB had also stated that release of imported consignments of producers of all 106 EEE items will be permitted only to those producers who have submitted their application for registration on the EPR Portal.

Now, therefore, by this present notice, the CPCB has decided to extend this interim arrangement for an additional period, i.e. till 15th September, 2023.
