The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has extended last date for filing E-form CRA-2 without charging any additional fees where the company has
been mandated to get its cost records audited for the first time under Companies Act, 2013 on account of companies (cost record and audit) Amendment Rule, 2018.
E-Form CRA-2 is required to be filed in accordance with Section 148(3) of companies Act, 2013 and rule 6(2) of the companies (cost records and audit) Rule, 2014. Every company that comes under the Cost (record and Audit) Rules, 2014 have to maintain cost records in E-form CRA-1. Further, A company is required to appoint a cost auditor within one hundred and eighty days from the commencement of the financial year.
CRA-2 is submitted to the Government after the appointment of cost Auditor. The form should be submit within thirty days of the board meeting after the appointment of cost Auditor or within one hundred and eighty days of commencement of the financial year, whichever is early.
The Ministry has received several requests about extension of last date for filing e-firm CRA-2. The Matter has been examined and Ministry of Corporate Affairs vide circular No. 04/2019 extended the last date for filing of e-form CRA-2 without payment of any extra fees up to 31-05-2019.
