Filing of FORM GST ITC-04 extended till 30th June

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs by Notification 15/2019 dated 28th March, 2019 has provided an extension of the deadline for the purpose of furnishing of the declaration in FORM GST ITC-04, with respect to goods dispatched to or received from a job worker from July, 2017 to March, 2019. The deadline has been extended till 30th June, 2019.

The extension has been granted on recommendation of GST Council in supercession of the notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue No. 78/2018- Central Tax, dated the 31st December 2018. Earlier, the date for filing the Form GST ITC-04 was 31st March, 2019.

ITC-04 under GST is a form which has to be furnished by registered manufacturers for the purposes of indicating and putting forward detail of input or capital goods, dispatched or received from a job worker in one particular quarter.

Details of the following types of transactions have to be furnished in FORM ITC-04 under GST:

  1. Inputs or Capital goods dispatched to job workers in the quarter.
  2. Inputs or Capital goods received from job workers in the quarter.
  3. Inputs or Capital goods sent from one job worker to another job worker in the quarter.
  4. Inputs or Capital goods supplied from the premises of job workers in the quarter.

There is no imposition of late fees in case of delay in filing the FORM GST ITC-04. However, it should be noted that the ITC of a manufacturer may be affected if he does not furnish his details within the given time frame.
