The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a Notification appointing new Authorised Officers (AOs) to manage the clearance of imported food at various import entry points across the Western and Northern regions. This action is a partial modification of a previous FSSAI Notification dated August 28, 2025.
The order, effective immediately upon issuance on October 29, 2025, aligns with the provisions of Section 47 (5) of the Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act, 2006, and Regulation 13 (1) of the FSS (Imports) Regulations, 2017.
New Authorised Officers and Jurisdictions
The FSSAI has notified the following FSSAI officials as Authorised Officers, along with their assigned link officers, responsible for clearing imported food consignments at major seaports, airports, and Inland Container Depots (ICDs):

The order emphasizes that this directive is effective immediately. It has been circulated to the Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC), and all regional FSSAI directors for necessary action and compliance.
