FSSAI Appoints New Food Safety Officers at Ports and Airports

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has notified the appointment of seven new Food Safety Officers (FSOs) from the Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, effective from November 19, 2025. These appointments are made in exercise of powers conferred under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.

The following officers have been designated FSOs and their corresponding areas of jurisdiction have been inserted into the principal notification, amending the list after serial number 36:

This action strengthens the regulatory oversight of food imports and movement at critical entry points across the country, ensuring compliance with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
