The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India vide circular dated 29 July 2020 has ordered Commissioners of food safety of all States and UTs to ensure strict compliance with the FSSAI directions by the manufacturers and distributors of Blended Edible Vegetable Oil (BEVO).
The FSSAI upon noticing that many FBOs are dealing in BEVO without AGMARK Certification and without complying with the labeling requirements and manufacturing standards laid down by FSSAI Regulations, has directed the Commissioners of food safety to ensure strict surveillance and enforcement of the requirements under the Regulations.
