The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India ( FSSAI ) in its notification dated 30th October 2019, has decided to make operational the Food Safety and Standards (Food products Standards) Amendment Regulations, 2019.
FSSAI had framed the draft Food Safety and Standards (Food products Standards) Amendment Regulations, 2019 to revise the standard of honey with respect to parameters pollen count, specific marker for rice syrup (SMR), trace maker for rice syrup (TMR) and Foreign Oligosaccharides.
Since the finalization of these regulation is delayed, FSSAI in order to address the issues of the food business operators and to comply with the present standards of honey has decided to make these regulation operational with immediate effect.
