FSSAI via notification dated 27th March 2020 has issued a Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) for issuance of offline licenses and registrations. The SOP has been issued after witnessing several internet shutdowns which has lead to non accessibility of the FSSAI site for long periods.
The FSSAI issued the Standard Operating Procedure(SOP) as a solution to the internet shutdown issue, enabling all those who are not being able to apply or renew licenses during such time to apply offline. The authority also notified that the officers are to strictly comply with the SOP in situations of non accessibility of the website, for increasing the ease of doing business.
The SOP gives a detailed description of the and circumstances which may lead to issue of offline registrations.
