Government of Tamil Nadu extends lockdown restrictions till 31st January 2022.

The State Government of Tamil Nadu vide its press release dated 10th January 2022 has extended the existing COVID restrictions in the state till January 31 and has imposed a fresh curbs restricting entry into religious places of worship from January 14 to 18, to contain the spread of coronavirus.

The night curfew will continue in the state till 31 January and there will be complete lockdown on January 16.

Further, due to Pongal (harvest) festival, the government has allowed travel in state-run buses with 75 per cent occupancy to enable the people to reach their native districts and other restrictions pertaining to restaurants’ take away service and theatres will continue till 31st January 2022.

As part of virus containment measures, Test-Track-Treat-Vaccination-Covid-19 Appropriate Behaviour will be strictly implemented by the State and all employees in commercial establishments should have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
