Government of Tamil Nadu extends lockdown till 31st August 2020 with revised relaxations

The State Government of Tamil Nadu vide its press release dated 30th July 2020 has announced the extension of induced lockdown till 31st August 2020 with fresh relaxations and a complete lockdown will be observed every Sunday.

Shops and Marketplaces which were earlier allowed to operate between 6.am to 6 p.m would be allowed to operate till 7.pm and Night curfew will remain in place from 9 pm onward.

The government has removed restrictions on the sale of e-commerce and they are now allowed to ship both essential and non-essential goods and the restaurants will be allowed to operate from 6 am to 7 pm with 50 percent capacity. The ban on air conditioners in restaurants will continue.

All commercial establishments, private companies and export units which are operating with 50% workforce would be allowed to do so with 75%.

Further Existing ban on religious congregations, operation of public transport, shopping malls, theatres and bars and all kinds of political and sporting activities, inter-state public and private transport will continue.
