Govt. of Haryana has issued a letter directing the implementation of Right To Information Act, 2005 and the Rules framed thereunder. This letter has been issued to the State Chief Information Commissioner and the Administrative Reforms Branch.
The letter lays down the procedure for dealing with RTI applications. Some of its aspects are listed as follows:
- Penalties imposed under RTI Act are to be recovered as per Government Instructions issued from time to time.
- The applications shall be disposed strictly in accordance with the object and spirit of the RTI Act
- The application shall be carefully scrutinised and if needed, be transferred to the concerned public authority. The receipt of fees shall be acknowledged whenever such transfer is made.
