The Karnataka state pollution control board vide its Notification dated 21st December 2019 has added new industries to the re-categorization of industries. Earlier the central pollution control board has issued directions on re-categorization of industrial sectors into red, orange, green and white categories.
Accordingly, a list of categorization of industries were issued by the KSPCB in which three new industrial sectors where added. They are as follows:
- Manufacturing of advance spacecraft. Launch service and other related products belongs to red category industry
- Jaggery manufacturing units with use of boiler belongs to orange category and without the use of boiler falls under green category
- Organic manure using organic converter is a green category industry and organic manure with manual mixing falls under white category industry
