Ministry of Corporate Affairs has clarified the date of filing of NFRA-1 in a circular dated 13th December, 2018. As per the Circular, NFRA-1 can be filed within 30 days from the date of deployment of the form on the website of Ministry/ National Financial Reporting Authority (NFRA).
As per Rule 3 of National Financial Reporting Authority Rules, 2018, every existing body corporate other than a company governed by these rules, shall file the particulars of auditor to the Authority within thirty days of the commencement of these rules, in Form NFRA-1. Every body corporate, other than a company as defined in clause (20) of section 2, formed in India and governed under this rule shall, within fifteen days of appointment of an auditor, inform the Authority in Form NFRA-1.
The circular clarifies that companies governed by the Companies Act, 2013 will not be required to file Form NFRA-1.
