The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology vide notification dated 9th June, 2023 has amended the schemes notified under the Modified Programme for Semiconductors and Display Manufacturing Ecosystem in India. The following changes are made:
- For Modified Scheme for setting up of Semiconductor Fabs in India- Applications shall be appraised and evaluated individually on an ongoing basis. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will place the applications for approval of the Union Cabinet.
- Modified Scheme for setting up of Display Fabs in India- Applications shall be appraised and evaluated individually on an ongoing basis. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will place the applications for approval of the Union Cabinet.
- Modified scheme for setting up of Compound Semiconductors / Silicon Photonics / Sensors Fab/Discrete Semiconductors Fab and Semiconductor Assembly, Testing, Marking and Packaging (ATMP)/ Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) facilities in India)- The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will place the applications for approval of the Union Cabinet.
