NABL Launches New Medical Application Portal for Lab Accreditation

The portal was designed to mirror the real-world operations of medical laboratories and offers a streamlined application process with a better user experience. According to QCI Chairman, tasks that once took weeks or months can now be completed in just two to three hours.

The platform introduces several key enhancements:

  1. A restructured application flow and standardized templates.
  2. A comprehensive checklist to guide applicants before they begin the process.
  3. Laboratories can assign multiple users with different access rights, which is expected to enhance oversight and accountability.
  4. The new system is designed to significantly reduce the time required to complete the accreditation process.

NABL Chairperson stated that the portal is a “transformational step” towards making the accreditation process more transparent and efficient. This initiative is expected to benefit hundreds of medical laboratories across India by providing a digital platform for accreditation under ISO 15189:2022. The NABL plans to extend this approach to other sectors to embed technology-driven efficiency and innovation across India’s quality journey.
