National Traders’ Welfare Board to be Structured by Government

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry on July 26, 2019, notifies that the National Traders’ Welfare Board shall be constituted to ensure funds and promote benefits for trades.
The Board is entrusted with the task of implementing the mechanism for reduction of compliance burden, social security benefits and addressing the problems of traders to the Government.
The Board will be a functioning body under Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade and will be headed by a non-official Chairman and 15 other members to be nominated by the Central Government. The Board may also have representative invitees from the Ministries including Ministry of Labour and Employment, NITI Aayog and Department of Agriculture Cooperation and Farmers Welfare.
