In order to provide legal advice and help to the needy patients, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) in collaboration with the Berhampur City Hospital has opened a legal assistance booth at the City Hospital.
This cell will run in the official hours and a staff will always stay here.
Additional District Medical Officer (Medical) Saroj Mishra informed, “There are victims of accidents, corruption, molestation and being cheated in getting benefits of the Government schemes. Any of them can get legal assistance at this booth.”
The staff of DLSA will do the counselling of the victims who require any legal help. “The Doctors and the medical staff will also be given training to send the patients to the Cell. The cell will also check if people from the marginalized section are getting the free medicine service, ambulance services, etc.,” added the ADMO.
