NMC Makes Progress on Approvals for New PG Medical Courses and Increased Seats

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has announced further progress in processing applications for new postgraduate medical courses and increased seat allocations for the upcoming academic year 2024-25. This public notice was issued on March 31, 2024.

The NMC’s Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) has stated that communications regarding 119 additional applications have been sent to the respective medical institutions. These applications pertain to both starting entirely new PG medical programs and increasing the number of seats in existing programs.

This announcement follows previous public notices issued throughout March, 2024. These notices are dated March 11th, 12th, and 15th, 21st, and 22nd, 27th, 28th and 29th, 2024

To date, the MARB has communicated decisions on over 1607 applications. The NMC has assured that processing for the remaining applications will continue, and institutions will be notified in due course.

This development signifies a significant step towards expanding postgraduate medical education opportunities in India. With more programs and seats available, aspiring medical graduates will have better access to specialized training.
