Online Registration/Licensing is now mandatory under Contact Labour and Inter-state Migrant workmen Act

Central government has published notification(s) dated 15th November, 2018 regarding making registration and licensing mandatory online on the Shram Suvidha Portal under the Contract Labour (R&A) Act, 1970 and Inter-State Migrant Workmen (RECS) Act, 1979.

Draft of amendment rules under the Contract Labour (Regulation and
Abolition) Central Rules, 1971, and  Inter-State Migrant Workmen
(Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Central Rules, 1980 was published on 4th September, 2018, inviting objections and suggestions. no objections and suggestions were received from public on the said draft rules.

As per the amended rules, the offline method of Registration/ Licensing has been made ineffective and establishments are mandated to register or get licence online through Shram Suvidha portal. Payment of the requisite fees can be done online and  certificate of registration will be generated electronically on the web-portal.
