PCI clarifies on the Appeal Process on the new DIGI-PHARMed Portal

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has laid down the procedure to appeal against the decisions sent through the dashboard of the new PCI Portal. A notice in this regard was published on 21st July, 2023.

It may be recalled that the PCI has developed a new portal called DIGI-PHARMed Portal. All pharmacy institutions were required to login to the portal to view and download the decision letter of the PCI.

Now, by the present notice, the PCI has introduced an appeal option on the portal. If any course of the institution has been awarded the decision of ‘not approved’ or ‘rejected’, they can avail of the appeal option.

Upon clicking the appeal button, a pop-up window will open which will give the institution the option of uploading a justification document. This justification document must be a single pdf file that explains against the shortcomings mentioned in the decision letter. The size of the file should not exceed 20mb.

It is important to note that the option to appeal is available 22nd July, 2023 to 31st July, 2023. Furthermore, only appeal raised on the DIGI-PHARMed portal will be accepted. No hardcopy or emails of appeals will be accepted by the PCI. Any institutions that have already submitted appeals through email or post are requested to post the same on the DIGI-PHARMed portal.

Moreover, any login related issues can be reported on the Grievance Redressal tab located on the DIGI-PHARMed New Portal.
