This decision was taken due to ongoing discussions within the Health Ministry regarding a proposed change in the scheme by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). Once the Ministry approves the changes, further steps will be taken. Candidates who graduated in 2023-2024 will be registered as pharmacists until they successfully pass the Exit Examination.

Draft Pharmacy Regulations To Include Manner of Holding Enquiry, Imposing Penalty and Preferring Appeal
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has released draft regulations for public comment to address false claims of registration by pharmacy practitioners and to provide for the manner of holding enquiry, imposing penalty and preferring appeal. The PCI is inviting comments on the proposed regulations by August 8, 2024.
Pharmacy Council of India Clarifies Role in Recent Arrests
The PCI has clarified that it is the State Pharmacy Councils that handle pharmacist registration, not the PCI. In UP, the Uttar Pradesh State Pharmacy Council, under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, oversees pharmacist registration.
Corrections To Information Bulletin for GPAT 2024
The corrigendum clarifies that applicants must ensure their B. Pharmacy degree is recognized under the Pharmacy Act, 1948 and follows the Conduct of Course regulations. Also, it states that the GPAT 2024 syllabus will be based on the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) Course Regulations, 2014.
PCI Permits Corrections In SIF Database For 2024-2025 Academic Session
It is imperative for all concerned institutions to take note that this extension marks the final opportunity to correct their filled SIF for the upcoming academic session. Hence, the PCI will allow corrections on its portal from January 31, 2024 till February 2, 2024.
PCI Opens Portal for Approvals for 2024-2025
Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has issued a notice on its approval process for academic year 2024-2025. PCI has opened its portal from December 14, 2023 till December 31, 2023. The portal can be accessed by new or existing institutions applying for continuation of approval, introduction of new courses, increase in admissions and other services.
Procedure for Submission of Grievances for Pharmacy Institutions
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has issued a circular on the procedures for submission of grievances for pharmacy institutions. This circular was issued on December 7, 2023. Henceforth, all institutions are requested to submit their grievances on the google form link.
Pharmacy Council of India Designated as Aadhaar Authentication Authority
PCI can utilize Aadhaar authentication to verify the identities of officials, faculty, and students accessing its portal. The PCI can also employ Aadhaar authentication for capturing attendance of faculty members. This can be achieved through biometric verification using Yes/No responses or/and e-KYC authentication facilities.
