The Government of Madhya Pradesh provides certain relaxation to factories registered under the Factories Act

The Government of Madhya Pradesh vide its gazette notification dated 24th April 2020 has decided to provide certain relaxations to industries from 20th April due to COVID-19 pandemic which shall be in force for 3 months from the date of publication.

The Government directs that all the factories registered under the Factories Act shall be exempted from various provisions relating to working hours, daily hours, interval for rest, etc for adult workers with the condition that the adult workers shall not be allowed to work in a factory for more than 12 hours in a day and 72 hours in a week.

Further the period of continuous work in a day shall not exceed 6 hours and that no worker shall work for more than 6 hours before he has had an interval of at least 30 minutes.

These relaxations shall not be applicable to areas declared as hot spot or containment zone in different places of the state and the industries shall follow due procedure of health, safety, and social-distancing.
