The Government of Tamil Nadu extends lockdown till 30th September.

The Government of Tamil Nadu vide its press release dated 30th August has extended the lockdown in the state till 30th September, with several new relaxations.

Under the new relaxation, the government has scrapped the e-pass system requirement for inter-district travel and there shall be no complete lockdown on Sundays in the month of September. 

All places of worship, hotels, and resorts have been allowed to re-open and shops outside containment zones will be permitted to remain open till 8 pm.

Further Industries, government offices, and banks are allowed to function with 100% of staff unlike earlier when the cap was set at 50% and all workplaces are being advised to continue work-from-home if possible.

However, there shall be no re-opening of schools, colleges, cinema halls, suburban trains, swimming pools, amusement parks, beaches, zoos, museums, tourist spots, until further orders.
