The State Government of Bihar in its gazette notification dated 21st November 2019 has published the Industrial Disputes (Bihar Amendment) Act, 2018 to further amendment the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947, applicable to Bihar. The amendment shall be effective from 21st November 2019.
This amended Act has substituted the definition of ‘workman’ to extend the scope of the term to include ‘any person employed in any industry for the promotion of sales for hire or reward, whether the terms of employment be express or implied’.
