Karnataka Government on 5th July, 2021, has notified the Karnataka Contingency Fund (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021. The ordinance provides an increase in the Karnataka Contingency Fund to a total sum of one thousand five hundred crores from five hundred crores. The increased funds are to meet the urgent expenses towards the control and treatment of Covid-19. The ordinance is promulgated as it is necessary to provide a temporary increase of the
amount in the Karnataka Contingency Fund.
