The Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying revises the recognised Veterinary Qualifications granted in Assam. This notification was issued on 28th July, 2023.
As per the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 for the state of Assam the recognition was as follows:
Assam Agricultural University was recognised for the grant of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B. V. Sc. & A.H.)
Now, the Ministry has revised the Indian Veterinary Council Act, 1984 for the state of Assam. It now has granted recognition to Assam Agricultural University in respect of College of:-
(i) Veterinary Science, Guwahati
(ii) Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science, Assam.
The recognised qualification for both these institutions will be Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry.
Pertinently. the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry degree from Lakhimpur College of Veterinary Science, Assam will be a recognised veterinary qualification only when granted on or after the 24th January, 2024.
