Thrissur Medical College: Pioneering Healthcare Advancements in Kerala

Thrissur Medical College celebrates a momentous occasion with the commencement of construction projects worth 606.46 crores, marking a significant step forward in healthcare development. Notable among these initiatives are the super specialty block at Amma and Kunjum Hospital and the construction of a new Dental College building, underscoring the institution’s commitment to advancing medical education and patient care. This Notification was published on 12.03.2024.

The college has garnered acclaim for providing rare lung surgeries, typically expensive in private hospitals, free of charge, emphasizing its dedication to accessible healthcare. Government initiatives like the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIFB) and the Ardram project have played a pivotal role in propelling healthcare progress across Kerala, with Thrissur Medical College at the forefront of these efforts, having received investments totaling 8600 crore rupees in the health sector alone. Minister highlighted the college’s steady ascent to becoming one of the state’s premier medical institutions. Recent contributions, including an ambulance and ICU beds from the CSR Fund of LIC Housing Finance, further augment the college’s medical infrastructure. These developments, alongside ongoing projects like the Mother and Child Hospital block and the Super Specialty Block, signify a transformative era for Thrissur Medical College, promising state-of-the-art facilities and comprehensive healthcare services for the community’s benefit.
