The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has issued a corrigendum to its earlier recommendations on “Formulating a Digital Radio Broadcast Policy for Private Broadcasters”, originally sent to the Government of India on October 3 2025.
The corrigendum introduces key clarifications and textual corrections, ensuring that the recommendations remain technically precise and aligned with the objectives of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB).
📜 Background
The MIB, through a reference dated April 23, 2024, had sought TRAI’s inputs under Section 11(1)(a)(i) of the TRAI Act, 1997 to help frame a comprehensive Digital Radio Broadcasting Policy for private broadcasters.
In response, TRAI submitted detailed recommendations earlier this month, outlining:
- A migration roadmap from analog to digital radio,
- Promotion of advanced digital transmission technologies, and
- Steps to ensure efficient spectrum utilization and enhanced audio quality.

The corrigendum, dated October 27, 2025, makes:
- Textual corrections to specific sections of the October recommendations, and
