Fixed-term employment workman” is a workman who has been engaged on the basis of a written contract of employment for a fixed period: Provided that, his hours of work, wages, allowances and other benefits shall not be less than that of a permanent workman and he shall be eligible for all statutory benefits available to a permanent workman proportionately according to the period of service rendered by him even if his period of employment does not extend to the qualifying period of employment required in the statute.

HC of Madras orders the Employees State Insurance Act to apply to aided and unaided educational institutions
The plea moved by the All India Private Educational Institutions Association alleged that the GO had “discriminated” between government-aided and private unaided educational institutions. The issue was referred to the bench because conflicting Judgments was entered in the past by the High Court in the matter. The Bench dismissed the petition and validated the GO.

MOHFW extends the validity of registration certificate for import of drugs
The ministry has decided that if an Registration Certificate holder for import of drugs, makes an application for a fresh Registration Certificate before the expiry of the existing certificate, the existing Registration Certificate shall be valid until orders are passed on the application and shall be deemed to be valid for all purposes.

The shops in Bengaluru shall work with 50% staff on alternate days. Further liquor shops, flower market, and religious places shall remain closed and all workers/customers to be allowed only if using face cover/mask.
