MCA relaxation for filing e-forms that are being revised
The Ministry is in the process of introducing certain company e-Forms in MCA21 Version 3.0 and thus these e-Forms will not be available in MCA21 Version-2 from January 07, 2023, to January 22, 2023. Additional time of 15 days is allowed without levying additional fees, to the stakeholders, in cases where the due dates for filing of these 45 e-Forms fall during the period between January 07, 2023, to January 22, 2023.
MCA clarification regarding migration of Forms GNL-2 and MGT-14 from V2 Version to V3 Version in the MCA 21 portal
The companies intending to file (i) Form GNL-2 (filing of prospectus-related documents) and (ii) MGT-14 (filing of Resolutions relating to prospectus-related documents) from January 07, 2023, to January 22, 2023, on the MCA-21 Portal may file such Form in physical mode duly signed by the persons concerned as per requirements of the relevant forms, along with a copy thereof in electronic media, with the concerned Registrar without payment of fee and take acknowledgment thereof.
UGC issues a notification on its Strategy for National Suicide Prevention
The notice acknowledges that suicide is a tragic loss of life that impacts those living with the loss and society as a whole. It goes on to state that with the right interventions suicide is preventable. Hence UGC requests higher educational institutions to take action as listed in the National Suicide Prevention Strategy on a priority basis.
NMC extends last date for filing online information relating to 1st year MBBS degree admissions in Medical Colleges for 2022-2023
The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a notice extending the last date for uploading the details of the students enrolled for the 1st year MBBS degree for the academic year 2022-2023. The new extended deadline is now fixed as 10th January, 2023 (midnight).
The office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trademarks notifies the deadline for acceptance of Form 22
The notice states that the last date to file form 22 and to comply with any further requirements is 31st January, 2023. This public notice was issued on 3rd January 2023. Any form 22 or related documents submitted after 31st January 2023 will not be accepted.

Guidelines on issuance of File Reference Numbers (FRN) to Cross Border Reinsurers(CBR)
The insurers, who wish to place re-insurance business with CBR, shall file an online application with the Authority at https://cbr.irdai.gov.in/login.aspx (CBR Portal), for allotment of FRN to CBRs under the category of either ‘Eligible CBR’ or ‘Non-Eligible CBR’.
CBDT extends time limit for claiming exemption under Income Tax Act, 1961 in relation to Computation of Total Income
The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) issued a notification regarding the extension in the time limit for compliance to be made for claiming specified exemptions under the Income-tax Act,1961. This extension was made in view of the then-Covid-19 pandemic. The notification was published on 6th January, 2023.
DGFT adds agencies to Handbook of Procedure
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued an amendment to the Handbook of Procedure in regard to the addition of agencies. The amendment notification was issued on 5th January, 2023. The amednment also adds, amongst others, that one photo of the Inspector shall be captured with the empty container in the background having only one door closed (door with container number) and the container number shall be clearly readable in that photo.
