Food Safety and Standards Authority of India(FSSAI) vide notification dated 27th March 2020 has operationalized some of the provisions of Food Safety and Safety (Licensing and Registration of Food Business) Amendment Regulations, 2020. The authority states that the amendment is sure to take some more time to be finished and shall be immediately effective when published in Gazette of India.
These provision have been made operational keeping in mind the public health interest and to ensure food safety and fair practices in food business operations. Sub Regulations 2.1.9, 2.1.17, 2.1.18, 2.1.19, 2.1.20 and 2.1.21 have hence come into force. They are related to Testing, Fee Allocation, Authorities, Inspection and Audit .
