The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide its notification dated 12th November 2020 has extended the public utility service status under item 1 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 for the services in the Transport (other than railways) for the carriage of passengers or goods, by land or water which was previously declared as public utility service for a period of six months from 27th May, 2020.
However, the Central Government has now extended the public utility service status to the said industrial service for a further period of six months with effect from the 27th November 2020.
