NMC Cautions Against Fake Letters Issued in its Name

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a notice of fake letters issued in its name. The notice cautions all stakeholders against fake letters of recognitions. This notice was issued on 9th November, 2023.

The NMC observed that a few medical colleges received fake letters under the forged signature of the President of PGMEB.

Therefore, the NMC has emphasised that all letters are sent through a dedicated email i.e. pgmeb.recognition@nmc.org.in. These include, letters of recognition and renewal of recognition.

Additionally, the NMC also dispatches these letters through speed post.

The NMC has faced several instances of fake letters issued in its name in the past. It may be recalled that on a prior occasion a fake letter of permission was sent to GSL Medical College. The NMC previously also took steps to prevent fake permissions being sent to Medical Colleges

Hence, the NMC urges stakeholders not to fall victim to such fake letters. NMC sends letters of recognition or renewal of recognition through dedicated email and speed post.

Stakeholders in doubt of genuineness of such letters may confirm the same from PGMEB, NMC.
