SPCBs to physically verify PWPs on EPR Portal

The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) has directions for State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs) or Pollution Control Committees to carry out physical verification of Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs) registered on the EPR Portal.

CPCB issues Provisional EPR Target for 2023-2024

Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) had previously announced an extension in the last date for Registered Producers, Importers, Brand Owners (PIBOs) to file the Annual Returns for 2022-2023. This extension was provided till 31st October, 2023. However, provisional EPR target 2023-2024 shall be applicable till actual EPR target is generated based on annual return for 2022-2023.

Notice for removal of difficulties in the implementation of the EPR Guidelines for Plastic Packaging

Provisions for accounting of plastic packaging sold by producers to unregistered brand owners, for assessment of EPR target, have been made on the EPR portal. Provisional EPR target shall be generated at the time of registration. The final EPR target shall be provided during the annual return filing based on provision of complete details of sale to unregistered brand owners. This facility is available to producers who register on the EPR portal up till 30th June, 2023.
