TRAI extends last date to receive comments and counter comments on TRAI’s Consultation Paper on “Definition of International Traffic”

Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has extended last date to receive comments and counter comments on TRAI’s Consultation Paper on “Definition of International Traffic”. Keeping in view the request of stakeholders for further extension of time for submission of comments, it has been decided to extend the last date for submission of written comments and counter comments up to 11.07.2023 and 25.07.2023 respectively. No further requests for extension would be considered.

The comments/ counter comments may be sent to Shri Akhilesh Kumar Trivedi, Advisor (Network, Spectrum & Licensing), TRAI preferably in electronic form at advmn@traLgov.in.

As ‘international traffic’ has not been defined in the Unified License and that ‘international SMS’ is a type of ‘international traffic’ the Authority is of the view that instead of defining international SMS in the Unified License Agreement, it would be appropriate to define the term ‘international traffic’, instead.

In this regard, a Consultation Paper on Definition of International Traffic seeking inputs from stakeholders has been placed on TRAI’s website.
