The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has published an updated order regarding the validity of FSSAI-recognized Food Testing Laboratories (FTLs).
The new order, dated October 16, 2025, immediately supersedes the previous validity order that was published by FSSAI on October 6, 2025, replacing it just ten days later.
The updated list is intended for the purpose of analyzing food samples collected under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, and its regulations.
Key Details of the New Order
- Effective Date for Validity Check: The enclosed list reflects the validity status of the laboratories’ National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration of Laboratories (NABL ) accreditation as of October 10, 2025.
- Purpose: The FTLs listed are authorized to carry out the analysis of food samples taken under the statutory provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
- Governing Regulations: The recognition and validity of these laboratories will continue to be governed by the guidelines and orders issued by FSSAI from time to time.
The FSSAI has circulated this updated information to all Food Safety Commissioners and FSSAI Notified Laboratories for immediate compliance.
