The PCI clarifies that this Inspection Fee is in addition to the annual “Affiliation Fee,” which stands at ₹15,000 per course. Therefore, new institutions will be required to remit both fees.
Pharmacy Council of India Mandates Biometric Attendance for Approved Institutions
The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has issued a circular dated May 1, 2025, directing all PCI-approved pharmacy institutions to implement the Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS). Institutions are required to initiate the onboarding process through the PCI portal using the provided user manual.
PCI Partners with QCI to Overhaul Pharmacy College Rankings
The new ranking system will apply to both undergraduate (UG) programs and Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) courses. The PCI has already taken steps to ensure the system’s robustness and transparency, including pilot-testing draft criteria and parameters with select pharmacy institutes across different regions. For the UG program ranking, the collaboration has formulated 11 criteria and associated parameters for evaluation.
Assessment & Rating of Pharmacy Colleges offering UG Program
The PCI announced the commencement of the assessment and rating process for the Academic Year 2025-26. Institutions offering UG pharmacy programs have been identified as eligible for rating in this initial phase.
